Mo Jahangir is an Iranian visual artist based in New York. His practice engages photography as both subject and medium, unfolding through a sustained inquiry into its technical and conceptual foundations. Working with code and software, Mo interrogates the structures underlying image production, drawing from close observation of his immediate environment.
He holds an M.F.A. from Georgia State University and studied at Vije and Mahemehr art institutes in Tehran, alongside a B.A. in Law.
He has exhibited internationally, with presentations at institutions including the Tehran Museum of Contemporary Art and the Craft & Folk Art Museum, Los Angeles. In 2015, he was an artist-in-residence at Viafarini, Milan.
He is an honorary member of the Institute for Promotion of Contemporary Visual Art (Tehran), the National Iranian Photographers’ Society (NIPS), and the International Federation of Photographic Art (FIAP).
